MONIKA STEINER

Monika Steiner was born in 1972 in a small village in Switzerland where she graduated from the University of Bern with a BS degree and Teaching Credential. She then studied gold smithing in Interlaken where she taught school for six years. She moved to California 10 years ago to follow her passion of studying art. She received her BFA in painting in 2005 from Sonoma State University and quickly became recognized and featured in galleries very early on.

"2005 was a a pivotal year for me, as a horse riding accident left me with a broken back. While recovering, the slow pace of my life taught me to contemplate reality in a deeper way. It also allowed me more time to study philosophy and meditation, as well as develop a subtler approach to painting and sculpting." - Monika Steiner
