La Jolla , May 28 2015 — Madison Gallery is pleased to announce the debut exhibition, Gestures, for artist Donald Martiny. Donald Martiny is interested in allowing gesture to escape from the traditional rectangular support and realize its potential in relation to architectural space. Each piece encourages a dialogue between the viewer, the work, and the space contained within.
Donald Martiny was born in Schenectady, New York in 1953. He currently lives and works in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, and studied at the School of the Visual Arts, The Art Students League in New York, New York University and the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts. His work is in private collections in Amsterdam, London, Paris, Philadelphia, Washington DC, San Francisco and Los Angeles.
