James Verbicky: Mode Selector

Madison Gallery is pleased to present a summer solo exhibition in the main salon featuring the latest works of one of Madison Gallery’s most popular and prolific artists, James Verbicky. In ‘Mode Selector’, Verbicky once again brings an entirely new and breathtaking collection of original works to the gallery, and his originality never disappoints. In his 8th exhibition with Madison Gallery, Verbicky will be displaying an amalgamation of his media paintings, including works from his ‘Citta Samtana’, ‘Force Bloom’, ‘Monetaire’, and ‘Blitz’ series. The artist will also be displaying his gorgeous Lamborghini Gallardo Spyder at the opening reception, which features his latest work ‘Mode Selector’ on the car itself. Verbicky utilized a unique canvas, a luxury automobile, to impress upon the viewer the themes that inspired his work: our overuse and reliance upon graphic icons and brands in media, and their discordant effect on the senses.
 
In an entirely different and more organic vein, Verbicky will also be revealing a new series of breathtaking butterflies entitled ‘Papillon En Fleur’, or, ‘Butterfly in Bloom’. The first of this series will be featured for the May 2014 Neiman Marcus catalogue. The artist drew upon his time spent in France during his juried exhibition with the Societie Nationale des Beaux-Arts at the Louvre in 2008 for inspiration.
